Academies and Interdisciplinarity (vol 2): What is the role of an Academy in today’s society? The present work (in two volumes) tries to answer this question by presenting several essays written by scholars in many fields and subjects, all represented inside the Accademia Galileiana. The answer lies in the interdisciplinary atmosphere that characterises the meetings of the Academy, where research is carried along in a co-operative way, in a mutual communication.
